Vegetable of the Month for January: Carrots!

Better late then never for the Veggie of the Month, right?  Hey, it is still January... just barely.

This version of Veggie of the Month comes to you from Bertie County, NC and the Piney Wood Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Community Garden. They had a great gardening year in 2012 and you can read about some of their project results in the first column.

If you like carrots, get ready to start planting them -- the time is almost upon us! Read some tips for growing the best carrots you've ever had and then try one of these recipes to cook 'em up and taste some of the best carrots you've ever had...ones you grew yourself!

Enjoy your Carrots!
