This North Carolina Children, Youth, and Families at Risk (CYFAR) project uses community gardening to: empower communities to produce food for families, deliver hands-on nutrition education, create opportunities for youth to develop agri-related business skills, build leadership among community members, and provide engaging activities for family members of all ages to work together for a common purpose.

Welcome to our Blog!

Welcome to our blog...and thanks for joining us on our journey to develop productive community gardens in North Carolina and beyond. This blog aims to serve several purposes. First, it serves as a place for people to learn new things about community gardening, the work of Cooperative Extension Program, and the Children, Youth and Families at Risk Program. Second, it is a place for those working on the project to track progress and reflect on strategies. Finally, and most importantly, it is a place for the communities participating in this project to share their stories with the world.

Check back often to read new posts and keep up-to-date on our progress. Please feel free to comment on posts and help make this blog interactive, educational and useful for all! Suggestions or personal comments may be addressed to eaposer@ncat.edu.
