This North Carolina Children, Youth, and Families at Risk (CYFAR) project uses community gardening to: empower communities to produce food for families, deliver hands-on nutrition education, create opportunities for youth to develop agri-related business skills, build leadership among community members, and provide engaging activities for family members of all ages to work together for a common purpose.

Wagram Community Garden, North Carolina CYFAR Project
Our NC A&T CYFAR (Children, Youth and Families At Risk) Community Garden Project was recently featured in Recreation Management Magazine.

The article entitled Gathering a Community - Planning Community Gardens and More, written by Kelli Anderson, talks about the history of community gardens, the feasibility of having gardens in public parks, the importance of pre-planning and community support, and mentions several community garden programs and organizations across the country -- including ours!
